At indiecomics.co.uk our mission is to shine a spotlight on the best indie comic creators from the UK and beyond to become the largest alternative network of independent small press comic book creators and fans in the UK. By supporting domestic Indie comics creators and building connections between them and the comic book fans in the UK direct sales market.

 

British comics have an incredible history and the UK comics scene produces a wealth of talent every year. The mainstream UK comic book industry is experiencing a period of stagnation and as more and more comic book shops close down they find themselves dominated by American imports, Japanese Manga and the unstoppable juggernaut of Peppa Pig.

 

However Indie Comics in the UK are currently going through a renaissance period as more and more creators turn away from traditional publishing deals with mainstream UK comic companies in favour of producing their own independent comic books with full creative control and retaining all intellectual property rights without corporate interference. 

 

A diverse audience of readers in the UK requires a diverse range of reading material - from your classic action Superhero type adventures to gritty political commentary and satire, tales of mystery and suspense horror comics, history and alt history, Sci Fi, Religion, Fantasy, all are found and all welcome here at indiecomics.co.uk, the home of UK indie comics. 

 

We have had much success already having raised over half a million pounds for upcoming UK comic book creators to follow their artistic passions and tell the stories that they want to. Stories with no editorial interference, told by diverse thinking people from across the political spectrum who want nothing more than to create, entertain and help build something. None of the writers, artists or creators are tied to us and we welcome submissions from any independent creators to join us on our journey. 

 

There is so much potential out there, for creators and fans: we want to offer a place to access it. An environment free of gatekeeping - It's not our place to tell anyone what to create OR what to think. A website that believes in putting our independent creators front and centre - letting them produce amazing art and tell the incredible stories that they can only achieve with the artistic freedom that the independent UK comic book scene offers both creators and customers.
